Hot Tomato @ Basement 3, 313 Somerset

This is another place to enjoy nice western food along Orchard Road. For value meal, go between 3 pm - 5:30 pm to enjoy a 20% discount. The steak, spaghetti and dory are excellent. Large young crowd of diners at this eatery, especially on weekend should give you an idea on the quality of food here!

Good/Excellent Food with reasonable, bordering to cheap price in Singapore

The followings are some of the eating places in Singapore that I have visited and found to have relatively good quality food:

1. Teo Kee Mushroom Noodle @ Blk 137 Tampines St 11, #01-05 : Open from early morning to lunch until 2:30 pm and usually there will be a long queue forming. The store closes on Mon and Tue. I have eaten the mince meat mushroom noodle with tasty sauce for $2.50 and the pork rib noodle for $3.00.

2. Ng Soon Kee Fish Soup and Duck Porridge @ Blk 117 Aljunied Ave 2, #01-11. Very nice fish soup for $3.50. If you want white pomfret meat, then it will cost about$5.00. The white rice that come with the soup will be lightly sprinkled with some duck gravy. Beware of the old lady owner, who will not hesitate to tell you off if you are impatient and want your food to be serve fast. Be prepared to wait at least 15-30 mins during lunch time from 12:30 - 2:30 pm to have your fish soup!

3. Jack's Kitchen @ Blk 51, Old Airport Road Hawker Centre, #01-21. The chicken cutlet with curry rice is quite nice and price at $3.50. You have to trust the facts that there is a stack of more than 50 plates smeared with a thin trace of curry sauce waiting to be washed on daily basis to make your own judgement on the quality of food!

4. Aston @ Suntec City, B1 near to Carrefour. Cheapest western food in restaurant setting without service charge! The quality of food is surprisingly good even with rock bottom pricing.

5. Bedok Ah Koon Fish Soup @ Blk 538 Bedok North St 3, #01-120/121. The price for the fish soup ranges from $3.5/$5/$6 & add $0.50 for the rice. If you like rich flavour fish soup minus the fishy taste that appears water clear, you will like this version! If you want the fish meat to be done just right, tell the stall owner not to leave the meat boiling for too long in the pot. I especially like the taste of the crunchy dried shrimp and fried fish pieces that are left at the bottom of the soup.
